Darren Coomer
As the original founder of The Strategy & Architecture Group, now The S&A Group, (est. 2011), Darren oversees all board level consulting and advisory engagements to ensure quality of delivery whilst supporting our client facing teams.
Darren is a successful corporate CIO, COO and Transformation Executive having held several CIO & COO Board roles, including regulated positions, for large global Financial Services organisations.
A strategic thinker, with an execution orientated nature, Darren is responsible for several highly successful ‘intrapreneurial’ initiatives launching major products in global markets such as FinTech, InsureTech and Web3 on behalf of VC, PE and major organisations.
A transformational CIO and expert, he is most well known in the UK for moving the Co-op Insurance business from a regulatory threshold to a major £185m trade sale within 2yrs. Separating the business from its retail parent and sibling Retail Bank, whilst recovering its IBM led £175m business transformation programme, ultimately setting up the parent company to win a public high court lawsuit against its former Systems Integrator for over £80m plus costs.
With deep experience in challenging CxO roles, Darren provides interim, advisory and NED services to companies undertaking complex business, technology and organisational transformations, M&A and global technology deployments and integrations.
Darren also leads the S&A Groups Ventures programme, providing venture capital and growth support to high tech ventures in areas such as FinTech, AI and Web3.
